The story: His wife woke him up in the middle of the night, telling him that their toddler son is crying. He wondered about how their baby,who died in a car accident last year with his older brother and mother could be crying right now...

:) a present dead child is the creepiest!  it's the strange situation of what is absent is now present and shouldn't be

I lost my hearing during the war, but I can still remember the screams of the dying. I'd endure it all again though if it would just stop them whispering to me now.
