The Silmarillion Project

Every chapter of J.R.R. Tolkien's Silmarillion, as illustrated by Dresden Codak author Aaron Diaz.

I like art. I like The Silmarillion.

Yay :)!

nice idea, but I didn't like the art style very much. It is too comical in my opinion, not enough epicness for the epic silmarillion...

Conversely, I'm a big fan of Diaz's style. I've been reading Dresden Codak since the beginning. I really like his 'warrior' Galadriel. I'm less sure of Melian looking like a D&D 4th edition tiefling, though...

Art for books is so rare, I tend to savor it, regardless of style. Though, I don't dislike this at all.

It reminds me of Samurai Jack, which is plenty epic.

Hmm...i am torn.

I love the Silmarillion...

I kind of dig the comic style ...

...but maybe not the combination of them together. Not sure if the comic style matches the flavour of the Silmarillion.

Still, i guess better than nothing  ;)

This is cool!  I hope their proposal about an animated series goes through.  I like silmarillion+samuri jack  :)
